East Wall and Window Restoration Appeal

Window 1

The East Wall of the Church and the stained glass windows are in urgent need of restoration, and we have been granted a faculty to be able to do the work.

This will cost in the region of £60,000 - we have raised some already and have been granted funds from Friends of Kent Churches, KCC, Broadstairs & St Peter's Town Council and the All Churches Trust, but we still need to raise in excess of £20,000.

Can you help?

EAST WALL CHALLENGE

Can you help us reach our target?

We all know the problem about the deterioration of the wall and windows and the need for repairs. Details of the work and the project are now displayed on the noticeboard

The PCC is committed to raising the money and we are already half way there; we now need a big push to complete the task.

We know that the building is not the most important aspect of our church life, but we do have a responsibility to maintain the historic fabric which will then also make the building more attractive to community groups and help wider the use of the building; when people come in for an event, they also encounter aspects of our living faith in Christ.

Some grant applications to charities remain outstanding but we can neither guarantee success or know when they will inform us.

Have a look overleaf to see what we’re proposing and how you can take part and suggest further ideas for fund raising to help us achieve £60,000!

Together we can do it!

How can we raise the money?

Make a gift

With interest rates so low, investments are not as attractive as they used to be. Do you have shares you could donate?

If 30 people each gave £1000 the job would be done!

Why not get together with friends or family to make a donation in memory of a loved one?

(cash is not yet needed, just a firm promise is enough for now)

... And don’t forget the advantages of Gift Aid!

Offer an interest free loan

If you are unable to make a straightforward gift, perhaps you could make a loan (repayable over 4 years) to help us reach our target?

Gather your gold

The price of gold is high at the moment. Do you have old jewellery, rings etc, perhaps which belonged to a relative but is no longer wearable? If you donated it to the fund it could create a considerable amount - and you could think of the relative who gave it when you sit and enjoy the new wall!

Charity Shop

We used an empty shop unit during Dickens Week for one week and raised over £2300.

The Big Dinner Party

We plan to hold a fund raising dinner in Broadstairs- why not plan to invite family and friends to buy tickets and join us for a good meal and have fun together?
