Prayer
Prayer is an essential and integral part of our life at Holy Trinity.
Every month a group of people called "the Engine Room of Prayer" meet to renew their committment to pray daily for one another and those who have requested prayer. We pray also for the whole community, street by street, on a daily rota.
Requests for prayer, which can be made in confidence, are always welcome. Please use the website contact form.
Our parish priest usually leads Morning Prayer every day except Monday at 8.30am in the Lady Chapel and he welcomes others to join him, with or without specific prayer needs.
Our Votive Stand is well used and whenever the church is open there is an opportunity to spend a few moments in quiet prayer and light a candle for someone.
The Ministry of the Laying on of Hands with Prayer is administered during Communion on the 1st Sunday and the evening service on the 3rd Sunday is of Healing and Wholeness. All are welcome to attend any of these.
If you would like to pray now but do not have the words, use the link to the Diocese of Canterbury website which has the prayer for today, and pray the words Jesus himself taught us...
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen
